Sumi Higuchi / Press/Sales

Q1. Why did you join YOKO CHAN?

Because I was attracted to YOKO! I am raising my son alone and have made many decisions in my life. I don't regret any of my decisions, but to be honest, there were times when I had to give up on things I loved. I had always wanted to do what I love someday, and that's when I had the opportunity to talk with YOKO. ``I wanted to create a place where women can work forever.'' ``You don't have to give up on what you want to do, you just have to change the way you work.'' I was more impressed than ever by Yoko's words. . I felt a deep sense of love from YOKO as she told me that she would do her best to support me in my life, and at the same time, I believed that I could work in a way that suited me, so I joined the company to take on a new challenge, even though I had no previous experience in the industry.

Q2. What is the job description and what is the appeal of working at YOKO CHAN?

I am in charge of sales and press operations. The main duties of sales are constantly monitoring the trends and sales status of the department stores and select shops that we do business with, considering improvements and measures together with our business partners, and following up on out-of-stock items. In addition to communicating with store staff on a daily basis by email and phone, I sometimes go to the store directly to express my gratitude to the store staff. I believe that valuing the bonds and relationships we have built up over the years is also an important job in sales. Press duties mainly include lending samples to stylists, creating press releases, and preparing for exhibitions. This is an important job to accurately convey YOKO CHAN's worldview to as many people as possible. I think there is a strong image of being glamorous and communicating with people in the media, but there is also a lot of behind-the-scenes work. At YOKO CAHN, members are close to each other and exchange opinions across departmental boundaries. I think one of the attractions of this company is that we work together to create better products, and that we can grow as individuals through our work.

Q3. How do you spend your holidays?

Now that my son is in high school, I don't get to spend much time with him on holidays, so in my free time I spend time relaxing with friends over lunch or tea, or go to art museums or concerts. Spending time with close friends and important family members is my greatest source of energy and always gives me strength.

Q4. What is the appeal of working even after becoming a mother?

There are many wonderful seniors around me. All of them are mothers, and it's so beautiful to see them doing what they love and trying new things. I believe that seeing a mother shining brightly is something that her children can be proud of as well. I also want to enrich my life through challenges, both for my children and above all for myself.
