Shoko Tokushige / Production management/Planning

Q1. Why did you join YOKO CHAN?
-
Due to my husband's transfer, I quit my previous job and worked as a housewife for about six months, but now I want to work again. I realized that I couldn't devote myself to work unless the products I was interested in, so I researched companies focused on apparel and ended up finding YOKO CHAN. After learning about YOKO's thoughts on launching a brand, I decided that I definitely wanted to work at YOKO CHAN, so I told YOKO during the final interview, ``I want to work together.'' I wonder if that feeling has been conveyed to me now.

Q2. What is the job description and what is the appeal of working at YOKO CHAN?
-
I am in charge of production management, delivery, and planning of leather items. Production management and delivery require precision and are often thought to be short-lived, but since they move in conjunction with the launch of each store and the holding of events, we need to closely collaborate with the MD and EC teams while keeping track of product movements throughout the company. As I work, I am thinking about how I can maximize sales. Planning a leather item is the job of realizing an idea that would sell if it were available. When I first took over the role, YOKO told me, ``Let's make something that you really want.'' I always keep these words in mind when working. It was my first time to be involved in making things, so I was often discouraged by the craftsmen's replies, "It can't be done." However, when the finished products sold rapidly and it was decided to increase production, I was able to really feel the joy of making things, and I wanted to make them again next time. We are currently working on a new project, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how it turns out. YOKO CHAN has the potential to realize what you want, not just in planning, but in all aspects of your business. I think one of the charms of YOKO CHAN, which has a small number of people, is that you can feel close to YOKO's ideas.

Q3. How do you spend your holidays?
-
I have a child who will soon be 2 years old. Even on holidays, I don't have much time for myself because I have a schedule that matches my children, but when I want to take a break, I leave the children to my husband and go to the basement of a department store to buy something delicious. Everything is hectic when I'm with kids, so it's blissful to have time alone to examine the food slowly.
-
Q4. What is the appeal of working even after becoming a mother?
-
Before I became a parent, I was fine with just thinking about myself, but now my children come first. I think I'm making my children feel lonely to some extent, so I'm working hard every day to do a job that I can be proud of when my children grow up.
